Sell on Consignment with Budget Baby!

Budget Baby is happy to announce that we now offer consignment sales on higher end goods with a retail price of R8 999 and upwards.

We have spent years building a trustworthy brand that sells pre-loved baby goods at affordable pricing across South-Africa.

With a large, active social media following, a loyal existing, and ever-growing customer base, most of our goods sell within a few days, if not hours!

With more and more people becoming more reluctant to buy from sales platforms such as marketplace, we would like to give you the option to sell with us in a safe and secure environment and we offer quick and painless process.

 

If you would like to sell with us on consignment, this is what you need to know.

1. Budget Baby offers the consignment option strictly for used/ new goods with a retail value of R8 999 or more. If the retail value is less, our direct buyout offer will apply.

2. Our consignment option still requires goods to go through our strict quality check and cleaning process, therefore all goods need to come to our store for inspection prior to consignment listing. (Budget Baby reserves the right to reject any consignment requests due to specific item demand, condition etc.)

3. Budget Baby will not advertise and/or list any goods without seeing it first as photos can be deceiving and all goods need to be available in our store for viewing.

4. Budget Baby will assist with a courier arrangement if you are not able to bring goods to our store in North Riding, Johannesburg. If we do not sell your item/s within 10 working days, or present a reasonable offer, we will send your item’s back at our cost.

5. Budget Baby asks the seller to provide us with 10 working days to sell your item/s. (It is usually less depending on the type of goods); however, we guarantee a sale or reasonable offer within 10 working days of item/s being listed.

6. The goods remain your property and can be collected from our store at any time, however we kindly ask that you refrain from listing these goods privately for the 10 working days and please notify us immediately should you receive a private offer or if you do not want to sell said goods anymore.

The Cost:

Budget Baby offers consignment sales with no upfront costs to you.

• We charge a 20% commission once your item/s are sold and paid for.

• Our cleaning and courier fees are calculated in the listing price, and you are given a complete breakdown beforehand.

• Although our goods normally sell for the full listed price, you will be notified immediately if a customer would like to negotiate or makes an offer on your goods. This is completely up to you, to either accept, reject, or counter the offer.

• All our goods are cleaned beforehand, this charge will be calculated in the listing price.

• All goods include courier fees, this will be calculated in the listing price.

• Budget Baby normally sells pre-loved baby goods at 40-60% of the original retail price, depending on year model and condition. We will advise you on a listing price based on the type of item, brand and condition. With close to 10 years’ experience in the baby goods industry, we have the knowledge to know what goods will sell at what price range, what goods are in demand, what will sell fast and what will take longer. We will unfortunately never sell anything second-hand for R500 less than retail as it does defeat the whole point of buying second-hand and buying customers would much rather opt for new.

Fast and Easy Consignment Process:

1. Bring/ send your goods to our store.

2. We do an inspection and valuation.

3. Receive a consignment breakdown.

4. Goods get cleaned, pictured, and listed on our page within 2 days from drop-off.

5. Notified via call/ Whatsapp once item is sold and paid for.

6. Receive agreed payout via immediate eft once buyer’s payment reflects in our account.
